FAWEU Strategic plan

The 2013 – 2017 strategy is premised on the FAWEU planning process that started in 2000 as a response to the Jomtein Declaration (1990) of Education for All (EFA). Four themes were then identified, i.e. girl-child education policy arena; Advocacy for the girl-child education; Empowerment of girls to achieve through education; and FAWEU capacity building and the first strategic objectives (2000 – 2007) were then formulated based on these themes:

  1. Influencing policy formulation, adoption and implementation in promotion of girls' education
  2. Advocating for increased investment in girls education
  3. Empowering girls to achieve through education
  4. Demonstrating and building models of best practice for replication
  5. Building FAWEU capacity to manage her programme work...........
